How to Add Negative Parts in QIDI Studio?

Negative parts are a powerful tool in model slicing design that allow you to create holes, grooves, or missing parts on the surface or inside of a model, thereby preventing these areas from being filled or printed. In simple terms, adding negative parts can "cut out" part of the model. In the 3D printing process, negative parts are a very useful design tool that allows users to design models more flexibly. This tutorial will show you how to add negative parts to the model in QIDI Studio to achieve the effect you want.

The model shown above was created by adding negative parts. If you want to make a similar model, you can follow the steps below.

Steps

1.Right-click on the plate, select "Add Primitive", and then select the "Cube".

2.Adjust the size of the Cube as needed. Once you have confirmed the size, right-click on the cube, select "Add Negative Part", and then select the "Cube".

3.The transparent cube that appears on the plate is the negative part you just added. Place the negative part in the appropriate position and adjust its size to make sure it is exactly in the area you want to delete.

4.After finishing the adjustment, click "Slice Plate". You will see that the sliced model is a cube with the negative part deleted.

In the end

By following the above steps, you can add negative parts to your model in QIDI Studio and easily achieve the effect of subtracting unnecessary parts. This method is very suitable for creating complex shapes, embedded holes or connectors, making your 3D printed models more accurate and interesting.
